Lead Worship. Live Worship.

Awaken your calling. Sharpen your craft. Lead worship.

I'm Dr. Brent F. Gibson — an educator, researcher, mentor, and coach with over 25 years leading and training worship teams. I founded Total Worship Leader with one conviction: every worship leader deserves access to the highest quality training, resources, and mentoring — regardless of geography, finances, or academic background. A global movement for total worship leadership.

My Story

My journey in worship ministry started early. As a pastor's kid, I was involved in music ministry by age 9 and serving on worship teams by 14. I completed my college music internship at Broadway Church in Vancouver under Laurie Berteig — an internationally recognized composer, arranger, and conductor — and that was only the beginning. Over the next 25 years I served churches in both paid and volunteer roles — as a Worship Leader, Associate Pastor, Music Director, Dean of Music, Program Director, and College Professor — often leading worship full-time or part-time while pursuing my degrees. Through every season, one question kept driving me: why don't worship leaders have access to formation that matches the weight of their calling?

I've spent my career answering that question — in the local church and in the classroom, often at the same time. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music from Northwest University, a Master of Arts in Bible and Worship Leadership from ACTS Seminary, and a Doctorate of Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies, all while continuing to serve and lead in ministry. As Program Director of Music Leadership at Summit Pacific College, I've trained hundreds of worship leaders across all five pillars of total worship leadership: theology, musicianship, discipleship, leadership, and worship technology.

What drives me is a simple conviction: worship leaders deserve access to quality formation at every level — whether that's non-credit training, undergraduate study, or graduate work. Some will pursue a degree or certificate. Many won't. But all of them are leading teams every week, serving their churches, and growing in their calling right now.

That's why Total Worship Leader exists — to make the same depth of formation I've delivered in classrooms and churches for 25 years accessible to worship leaders everywhere. Wherever you are, whatever your path, you can grow without having to relocate or wait for the right program to come to you.
